Quickstart
Connect an agent to Hookspot and ask why a delivery failed.
Hookspot’s MCP server lets an AI agent, such as Claude Code or ChatGPT, read and change your Hookspot projects as you. Connect one and ask it why your last delivery failed.
Add the server
Section titled “Add the server”In Claude Code, add Hookspot’s MCP server:
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http hookspot https://app.hookspot.dev/mcpThen run /mcp in claude, select hookspot and choose Authenticate.
For another agent, see Connect an agent.
Approve the agent
Section titled “Approve the agent”In the browser Claude Code opens:
- Tick Read-only, as the agent only needs to read.
- Click Approve.
Authorized apps explains the page.
Ask why a delivery failed
Section titled “Ask why a delivery failed”Ask the agent about a destination, the path in your app that receives webhooks:
Why did the last delivery to /webhooks fail in my Hookspot project? The agent finds the project and the destination, then lists its failed
deliveries. It reads the newest one with
get_delivery, which holds your app’s response. It then tells you what your
app answered, such as a 500 and the error in the response body.
Retry the delivery
Section titled “Retry the delivery”Fix your app, then send the delivery again with Retry a delivery in the dashboard.
A Read-only agent cannot retry for you. To let it, change its access. Tools lists what an agent can read and change.
