Connect an agent
Add Hookspot's MCP server to your AI agent.
An agent connects to Hookspot through one URL, the MCP server’s. Add it to your agent, then approve the agent in your browser.
https://app.hookspot.dev/mcpEnter the URL exactly as shown. With a trailing slash, Hookspot refuses the agent’s sign-in. Account settings › Authorized apps in Hookspot shows the URL too.
Add the server
Section titled “Add the server”Pick your agent. Each one opens Hookspot in your browser to sign in.
Add the server for every directory:
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http hookspot https://app.hookspot.dev/mcpThen start claude, run /mcp, select hookspot and choose
Authenticate. Claude Code opens Hookspot in your browser.
Add the server:
codex mcp add hookspot --url https://app.hookspot.dev/mcpThe command then opens Hookspot in your browser. Codex confirms in the terminal once you approve.
If no browser opens, open the URL that Codex prints.
To sign in again later, run codex mcp login hookspot. The Codex IDE
extension and the ChatGPT desktop app read the same server list.
Add Hookspot to Cursor. The link opens Cursor and installs the server.
Or add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json yourself:
{ "mcpServers": { "hookspot": { "url": "https://app.hookspot.dev/mcp" } }}When Cursor shows that hookspot needs you to sign in, follow its prompt. Cursor opens Hookspot in your browser.
While Cursor registers itself with Hookspot, Hookspot shows Unverified next to its name.
Cursor passes its agent at most about 40 tools. An agent connected without Read-only gets more tools than that.
If the agent can’t find a tool, turn off tools you don’t use in Cursor’s MCP settings. If the agent only reads, revoke its app and connect the agent again as Read-only instead.
Agent mode in VS Code needs GitHub Copilot, and its Free plan is enough.
Add Hookspot to VS Code. The link opens VS Code and asks you to install the server.
Or add it from a terminal:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"hookspot","type":"http","url":"https://app.hookspot.dev/mcp"}'When VS Code asks to sign in to hookspot, allow it. VS Code opens Hookspot in your browser.
