Terms of service
Effective 4 October 2026.
These terms cover the Hookspot website, app and CLI. They are between you and Bohdan Yuriiovych Hryshchenko, an individual entrepreneur registered in Ukraine, at 36 Laherna Street, apartment 31, Kyiv 03113, Ukraine, who runs Hookspot.
Your account
You sign up with a name, an email address and a password, or with GitHub or Google. If you sign up with an email address, you confirm it before you first sign in.
You must be at least 16 to use Hookspot. Hookspot does not offer its service in Russia, in Belarus or in regions under comprehensive sanctions, or to people and organizations under sanctions.
You then name an organization, or join the one that invited you. An organization holds projects and members, and only its owners and admins can change its plan.
Keep your password and your CLI key secret, because they give access to your organizations’ webhooks. You are responsible for what is done with them.
Plans and payment
Every organization starts on the Free plan, which costs nothing. Pro raises the limits for the whole organization. The Pricing page lists both plans’ prices and limits.
An organization that never had a subscription can try Pro free for 14 days. Checkout takes a card, and Paddle charges it when the trial ends, unless an owner or admin cancels first. Pro then renews each month or each year, whichever was picked at checkout, until an owner or admin, or whoever paid, cancels it.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle runs the checkout, renewals and invoices, and adds tax where it applies. The Refund policy explains how to cancel Pro and how refunds work.
Each plan has a monthly request limit. At twice that limit, Hookspot turns new webhooks away until the next month. Plans and limits explains the limits.
Your data
Hookspot stores the webhooks your sources receive and what your local app answers. The Privacy policy lists what Hookspot stores, who else receives it and how long Hookspot keeps it.
Your webhooks and your local app’s answers stay yours. Hookspot stores, shows and forwards them only to run the service for your organization. The Data processing agreement is part of these terms for every organization, and covers the personal data your webhooks and your local app’s answers carry.
Acceptable use
Do not use Hookspot to:
- break the law, or send data you have no right to share with Hookspot
- send full payment card numbers
- send health information that needs a HIPAA business associate agreement, which Hookspot does not sign
- send spam or malware, or attack other systems
- reach other users’ data, or test Hookspot’s security without written permission
- get around your plan’s limits, or put so much load on Hookspot that it slows down for others
- resell access to Hookspot
To report illegal content stored in Hookspot, write to [email protected]. Hookspot may suspend an account or organization that breaks these rules, as Ending these terms explains.
Liability
Hookspot is a tool for building and testing webhook handlers, and it comes as is. Hookspot does not promise that it is always available, that it forwards every webhook or that it is free of errors. Do not rely on it to deliver the webhooks your production systems need.
Hookspot is not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data. Its total liability to you is limited to the greater of 100 US dollars and what you paid for Hookspot in the 12 months before your claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Hookspot at any time. You delete your account in the app’s settings, at once and for good. If you own an organization that has other members, you first make one of them its owner or delete the organization.
An organization’s owner can delete it in the app, together with its projects and stored webhooks, after canceling its Pro. If your card pays for an organization’s Pro, deleting your account does not stop the payments. They continue until an owner or admin replaces the card in Settings › Billing, or you cancel through the link in your receipt.
Hookspot may suspend or close an account or organization that breaks these terms, or remove content reported as illegal, and always tells you why. Unless it must act at once to protect Hookspot or other people, it writes to you first and gives you time to fix the problem. An account or organization closed for breaking these terms gets no refund.
If Hookspot shuts down, it emails you at least 30 days before, and refunds the unused part of any Pro you paid for in advance.
Changes
Hookspot may change these terms or the price of Pro. For a change that affects your rights or what you pay, Hookspot emails you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and updates the date at the top of this page. A new price applies from your first renewal after the 30-day notice ends.
If you keep using Hookspot after a change takes effect, the new terms apply to you. If you do not accept them, stop using Hookspot and cancel Pro before that date.
Law and contact
These terms follow the law of Ukraine. If you use Hookspot as a consumer, you also keep the rights the law of your country gives you, and can go to its courts. Disputes with businesses go to the courts of Kyiv, Ukraine.
Write to [email protected] with any question about these terms. Hookspot usually answers within two business days. The same address is Hookspot’s single point of contact for authorities and users, including under the EU Digital Services Act, and it takes messages in English.
